A Brief History on Self healing
I’ve always been interested in Sports, Health and fitness. It was in the late 1980s that I began working as a community sports leader and was involved in setting up sporting activities for a variety of groups and individuals in the local community.
As well as being used as a means to engage with the client group, sports and exercise programmes were also use to help motivate them into dealing with their everyday lives. This turned out to be a great success because those who did participate became more focused with them selves and life in general.
By 1996 I was still witnessing the positive effects that exercise was having on the lives of the groups and individuals that I worked with. I recall how patients experiencing mental health challenges could be transformed into happier, calmer and more energetic individuals. Participating in exercise can definitely have a profound and positive effect on the mind, body and spirit.
Regular exercise can definitely improved the physical, mental and spiritual outlook of the individual. It’s important for us to nurture and regularly maintain our bodies with the correct regular exercise so that we can function effectively while enhancing our quality of life. Exercising correctly, eating sensibly and thinking positively will all play a part in our optimal health and well being no matter what your health challenges in life may be?
Talking about health challenges…I had to deal with my own personal one in 2001.
At the time I had no logical explanation as to my refusal to pharmaceutical drugs. All I knew at the time was that my physical body had shut down, literally. Although I spent over two months in a wheel chair, it gradually began to dawn on me that with correct thinking and positive mind exercises like neuro linguistic programming (NLP) and visualisation techniques my body would heal itself.
I didn’t realise it at the time, but I now know that this was the beginning of my journey of self discovery.
I learned much about the healing power that lay dormant within me and all human beings. In order to regain my health and sense of wellbeing I saturated my mind with stories of self healing and alternative therapies.
What I found was a lot more than I expected, I always was aware of the great benefits that could be from regular conventional exercise, however, nothing prepared me for the miraculous effects of that I was to gained from practicing ancient Chinese exercises like Chi Kung and Tai Chi.
By practicing Chi Kung for just 10-20 minutes daily, I began to experience the most profound healing experience ever.
Chi Kung was having a profound positive affect on my mind body and spirit and continues to do so. My general health and feeling of inner peace and wellbeing just increased with my daily practice…my energy levels continue to rise dramatically.
